My tasks aren’t syncing

Check that each device is signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on, and that iCloud Drive and Spring are allowed in iCloud settings. Sync can take a moment after a change, and needs a network connection. Changes made offline sync when you’re back online.

Where did my finished tasks go?

Tasks you finish stay under Done for the rest of the day. The next day they move to the Archive: on iPhone and iPad it’s in the ⋯ menu, on the Mac in the toolbar (⌘Y).

Spring Plus

Spring is free on iPhone and iPad. Spring Plus adds the Mac and Apple Watch apps, dates and times in tasks, Find Tasks, reminders and backgrounds, at $14.99 a year with a 14-day free trial, or $1.99 a month. Prices vary by region. See the plans in Spring’s Settings, where you can also restore a purchase. To cancel, open your subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. If you cancel, your tasks and notes stay yours: Spring keeps working on iPhone and iPad, and on Mac and Apple Watch you can still read them.

Find Tasks

With Spring Plus, Find Tasks in Notes reads your selection, or the whole page, and suggests tasks. Only the ones you tick are added to the Inbox, and your note doesn’t change. It needs Apple Intelligence, and doesn’t read photos or files. On very long pages it reads the first part.

Dates and times in tasks

With Spring Plus, on a Mac, iPhone or iPad that supports Apple Intelligence, with it turned on, Spring reads days and times from task titles. An inbox task that names a day, like “Pay rent on Friday”, shows the day and moves to Today when it comes; send it back to the Inbox and it stays there. A task with a time counts down within six hours. Each device has its own Notify setting in Spring’s Settings, General on the Mac and Tasks on iPhone and iPad, and it’s off on iPad until you turn it on. Spring has to be allowed to send notifications. You can turn date reading off in the same place.

Focus timer

Start 15, 25 or 50 minutes on the Now task. Every device shows the time left, and the device where you started it notifies you when the time is up, if Spring is allowed to send notifications. Finishing or moving the task ends the focus.

Widgets and the Watch

Add Spring’s Inbox, Today, or Inbox and Today widget from the widget gallery. On Apple Watch, the Now and Inbox complications are available when you edit a watch face.

Sharing to Spring

Choose Spring in any share menu to add text, links, photos or files to the end of Notes.
